The bookshop includes a small gallery space featuring a changing kaleidoscope of local artist's work.

Our Current Exhibitions.

1)

Thursday Island born and raised artist, James Billy is now a local Annerley resident. He is from the Kulkalgal clan of Naghir (Mt Ernest) and Masig (Yorke Island), a very talented and diverse artisan.

His current collection here at the bookshop focuses on saltwater fish and animals depicted within traditional designs - really stimulating artworks created using simplified lines, shapes and muted colors.

(see examples above).

--------------------------------------------------------------

2)

An Exciting and eclectic collection of work from various artists - all members of the local 'Art4Ages' Studio.

The pieces are all so unique, vibrant and individual - it's impossible to do them justice with words....why not call in soon and see them for yourselves.

(You might even find a bargain to take home!).

(see examples below)

All paintings on display are for sale and range from $25.00 to $400.00 with all monies going back to the artists.

Join the Slam Poetry Meet-Ups !

Slam Poetry is a type of competition where people read their poems without props, costumes or music. We will also talk about our poems and offer support and performance opportunities, as well as feedback.

The meet-ups are the third Monday of each month at the Annerley Community Bookshop, for more information or to register for the meet-ups check out the Event Page.

The Annerley Community Bookshop now has a Monthly Book Club!  Members of the Book Club will take turns picking the months selection which can be anything from classics to cookery books.  If you are interested in joining the Book Club, check out the Book Club's webpage, linked below, for all the details on how to join (so easy!) and the next meeting time.
